What began as a logo and name for a T-shirt brand in 2010 has transformed into the central figure of a comic strip. Willy Black initially sketched as a pair of eyes and a twisted smile, has leaped from sketchbook to sketchbook over the years, undergoing subtle aesthetic changes along the way.
Today, Willy Black is the author’s alter ego and the main character of his namesake comic strip. Inspired by everyday life, creator Guillermo Saldana captures humorous, sarcastic, and relatable moments, exposing Willy Black and his family to the universal challenge of existence.
Curious fact: Our main character's formal name is William Eleuterio Black (AKA Willy Black, or just Willy for friends).

William Eleuterio Black is a cartoonist, who for the first time, at 40 years old, has achieved to publish a strip called Palurdeando.
He is anxious, asocial and a bit depressive. Because of this he is always worried that one day he will simply run out of ideas and he will not be able to continue drawing. At the end, one way or another he manages and comes out ahead. He lives with his family in a house that has belonged to the Blacks for several generations.
His favorite place in the entire house is, without a doubt, the Tower of Melancholy (his Art Studio).
Z, also called "Little Bean" by her father (Willy Black), is the teenager of the family.
She has lived full-time at the Blacks' house since her mother had to travel abroad for work. Unlike her father, Z is sociable and is constantly discovering herself.
Paradoxically, she studies at a religious high school (Saint-Guillaume H.S.), while Willy is a confirmed atheist.
A is Willy's wife (or Willy is A's husband, whatever, it's not in a possessive meaning). If she and Willy were a brain, she would be the left hemisphere.
They met one summer afternoon, during an editorial presentation. That's been 10 years now.
Blanket is a ghost boy who no one knows where he came from or how he got to the house. He is always around and sometimes coexists with the other members of the family.
Eve is a tentacle that once belonged to the legendary Kraken. After being amputated, she grew up in France and since she traveled to the American continent she has worked in the Blacks' home.
Pamphilus, Pancletus and Pancracio are the skulls of the three brothers of
Willy's great-great-grandfather.
They have been in the house since his passing and the rest of their bones are scattered throughout the house.
They like to stay together and tell jokes with each other.
They are the house pets (just for the record, Ruperto is the crow, Bones is the cat).
Snowflake is Willy's distant cousin who comes from the north. When he arrived he said he was only staying a week. That was 8 years ago...
She is tattooed on Willy's left forearm. She is our main character's confidant, friend, and good conscience.
It is not officially a pet of the house, rather it is part of the fauna that lives in the nooks and crannies of the house.
